Matt Cardle Wins X Factor Final

Matt Cardle Wins X Factor Final - Matt Cardle last night won a sensational X Factor final – after downing shots of Jack Daniel’s.

The tipsy singer, 27, had a bottle of the whiskey by the stage as he beat Rebecca Ferguson after One Direction were dramatically eliminated.

The former painter and decorator secured a £1million recording contract and will earn up to £2million from touring and advertising.

Matt is now odds-on to get the Christmas No1 with his single, a cover of Biffy Clyro’s Many Of Horror.

After his triumph in front of an estimated 20 million viewers, tearful Matt said: “I’m quite an emotional person anyway, although everything is heightened when you’re on this show. Seeing the support I got at home this week choked me up a little bit.

“I’ve had so many nice presents and letters and that makes me quite emotional. This victory is for all of them. I just can’t get over what has happened to me. I remember getting to Bootcamp and seeing 220 contestants and thinking, ‘I’m not going to get anywhere because I’m not like them’. I’ve got a beard and a cap, checked shirt, and no sense of fashion. Sort of Brokeback Mountain meets a woodsman.”

But Matt, who came top in the voting for every week of the live finals, nearly did not make the studio at all last night – because of a sore throat.

He had to call out a doctor at midnight on Saturday because he was so convinced he was losing his voice.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. He told the Idaho Statesman that he may have "overreacted," but that he did not punch the teen. Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone

The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto. The spokesperson expects national merchants will be making formal announcements about acceptance. “There’s a lot of excitement in the merchant community,” she says. “Merchants are looking for that faster throughput.” In a statement, the Retail Council of Canada endorsed the new card. “Interac Flash is a welcome and needed ...
