Growth In Cleantech Jobs - The Sacramento region has led the state in job growth in the clean-tech sector over the past 13 years and is now home to more than 13,000 clean-tech jobs, according to a report released Monday by the Green Capital Alliance. Green Capital Alliance is a public-private partnership that works to attract clean-tech businesses to the six-county region and streamline government permitting. The study, “Advancing the Clean Energy Economy in California’s Capital Region,” offers a five-year progress report on efforts to transition the region toward a green economy. The report documents pivotal moments that have helped to move the region in that direction, from the formation of Partnership for Prosperity, a collaborative planning effort to create a regional economic development strategy, in 2005 to the region’s ability in recent years to secure more than $250 million in federal economic stimulus funds for clean technology and energy efficiency initiatives.
