Case Of Smallpox On House - The episode begins as a boat-full of African slaves comes under attack. The ship's doctor instructs the captain to toss his "sick cargo" overboard, but, as the ill slaves are dragged up on to the deck, a huge hole is blown in the side of the craft. Back in the present, a married couple - Lulu and Niles - spend time together on a boat, while their respective children Julie and Roger go diving. Julie emerges from the water with an old glass jar she has recovered from the wreck of the slave ship. She accidentally breaks the jar, badly cutting her hand. House informs his team that Julie is now suffering from a high fever, vomiting and blood-shot eyes. He claims that she has smallpox, caused by the scabs of infected slaves that were kept in the jar as a form of inoculation.
