Diabetes Testing Strips Recalled - The Food and Drug Administration is recalling more than 350 million glucose test strips after they were found to give inaccurate results. FDA officials are working with Abbott, the manufacturer, to recall six of their brand name glucose test strips. The recalled strips may give a false low blood sugar result — which could lead patients to raise their glucose unnecessarily — or avoid treating high blood sugar because of the low reading. Diabetes Testing Strips Recalled Both scenarios could be dangerous. Users of these strips are encouraged to call Abbott's customer service line to replace the defective strips.
