Time Warner Sinclair Dispute - The new year seemingly can’t come without a fight over the fees paid for television programming. Last year there was an end-of-the-year dispute between Time Warner Cable and News Corporation. This year Time Warner Cable is fighting again, this time with Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns 58 television stations in 35 local markets across the country. Sinclair wants Time Warner Cable to pay more money for the right to retransmit 33 of its stations in 21 markets. The current contract between the two companies will expire in the final minute of the year on Dec. 31, and it is possible that the stations will be dropped in Time Warner Cable households at that time. It is also possible that the companies will reach a compromise before then.
