TurboTax released a mobile app for filing taxes on smartphones, making the app available for free download. For consumers looking to file a 1040EZ to prepare their federal and state income taxes, now they can do it straight from their phone. It almost sounds too good to be true, and it is a leap in technology use that simply boggles the mind. The new TurboTax app is called SnapTax, and we downloaded it to an Apple iPhone to have a look at what it could do. The SnapTax app is available in the Apple Store, and is very simple to install at no cost. The trick, though, is that if you end up wanting to submit your taxes through this phone version, it will cost $14.99.
