PS3 Firmware Update - Firmware 3.55 is described by Sony as "a minor update that adds a security patch". It's believed to be targeted towards the PS3 Jailbreak that surfaced earlier this year in August. Sony struck a blow to Jailbreak users in September when it filed a lawsuit against an online retailer for selling the PS3 mod PSJailbreak and later released a security patch. However, the creators of the original PS3 Jailbreak quickly developed a downgrade for the PlayStation 3 in October. The downgrade allowed users to roll back the changes made by Sony, thereby making the Jailbreak usable again. Sony's now issued its counter-attack, however, in what's increasingly becoming a game of cat and mouse. PS3 Firmware Update
