Metro PCS Android Phones - MetroPCS's new Android-powered smartphones will automatically link up with 500,000 free Wi-Fi hotspots and come with software to hook up to 200,000 more, two companies said in press releases. Most Android phones connect to Wi-Fi, of course. But the difference with MetroPCS's new Huawei Ascend and LG Optimus M devices are the preloaded DeviceScape and Boingo clients, which can potentially seek out and link up with Wi-Fi hotspots without users having to search, log in, or pay much attention at all.
