Mark Pescovitz Dies in Car Crash - The weather this past weekend is being blamed for the death of a surgeon from the IU School of Medicine. Dr. Mark Pescovitz was on his way to Indianapolis after visiting his wife in Ann Arbor, Michigan when he crashed his car.

His wife formerly served as the CEO of Riley Hospital and the head of research at IU Medical School.

In a statement, she says:

"This unexpected tragedy reminds us all of the fragility of life and I am grateful for the support and well wishes that my family and I are receiving. My children and I will treasure Mark's memory and take solace from knowing how many lives he saved and touched throughout his career and life.
