The LG Star in the photos is powered by Froyo, and an explanation to the comparatively low benchmark score might be that Android 2.2 simply isn’t designed to take advantage of Nvidia’s dual-core CPUs. However, when the device is launched early next year, it will likely run Gingerbread and produce considerably higher results.
The Star was initially believed to run a virtually unaltered version of Android, but whether you like it or not, the prototype in the pictures is featuring LG’s custom UI which looks somewhat like Samsung’s TouchWiz interface.
When one combines the rumored LG Star specs from a couple of weeks ago with the new info, this is the result:
* 4-inch capacitive, WVGA touchscreen
* Dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor
* 512MB RAM
* 8MP camera with 1080p video recording
* Front-facing camera
* HDMI-port
* LG’s custom UI
* 1.45 GB storage available for apps
* 1500mAh battery
* Micro SD slot
* 3.5mm headphone-jack
* Native DivX support
