Flight Status

Flight Status - JFK International Airport was closed Sunday night due to a blizzard that swept across the Northeastern United States on the day after Christmas, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center.

The airport is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 27 at 5 a.m.

Over 1,400 flights were canceled at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty Airports on Sunday, according to NY1. All three New York City metro airports are now closed, leaving many travelers unable to enter or leave New York City.

Flight Status

The Noreaster, which dumped several inches of snow across parts of New York City, New Jersey, and Delaware all the way north to Massachusetts and New Hampshire, threw a wrench into the plans of travelers, who voiced their disappointment on Twitter.

“NY’s JFK airport is closed. Seems like NY for New Year’s isn’t happening,” @sidv tweeted.

Farm dogs maul Irish Tourist - An Irish tourist who was mauled to death by two dogs while visiting an organic farm in Penang yesterday morning had more than 50 bite wounds and lacerations all over his body. Penang Hospital Forensic Department head Datuk Dr Bhupinder Singh, who performed the post-mortem on Maurice Sullivan (pix), 50, today, said he found the wounds on the victim's head, neck, hands and legs. "The victim had died as a result of severe haemorrhage due to multiple injuries from the dogs' bites," he said, adding that there were no signs that Sullivan suffered any ailment at the time of death.
