Friends of the 17-year-old X Factor star say she's really feeling the weight of mum Dina and dad Darren's expectations.

‘Money's always been tight for Cher's family,' reveals a source.

‘She used to live in a caravan with her parents, brother Josh and sisters Sophie and Rosie.

'For years she was taunted at school for being a "pikey" and a "gypo".'

Although they now live in a four-bedroom terraced house in Malvern, Cher's promised to buy her parents a new house if she makes it big.

However, X Factor insiders tell Now the pressure to succeed may be too much.

‘She should be concentrating on her sound, image and career,' says a source.

‘Her parents want the best for her, of course, but they're always telling her to work harder because a record deal would make such a difference to their lives.'

Last month, there were reports that her unemployed dad Darren, 43, had been flogging pictures of his daughter in her bedroom for £25 each.

‘We have up for grabs one of Cher's photos, signed by Cher. There are only 20 of these,' he wrote on the Ebay listing.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
