Prep And Landing Short - Last December saw the debut of Prep and Landing, a short Disney toon of some 20-odd minutes that introduced us to the team of elves who go ahead of Santa and lay the groundwork for his rapid, intercontinental gift delivery. It was one of the best Mouse-made films in recent years.*

To tide us over before the little pointy-eared chaps return for a full sequel next year, this December we’ve been allowed just a tiny taste, a new short that runs under 7 minutes total. Mere crumbs!

Operation: Secret Santa screened on ABC last night and – being in the UK and all – I missed it. Never fret, the internet is here to save the day. Faster than the fat man in red, the show whistled around the world and into… er… my eye… chimneys? Yeah. Sort of.

You can see the toon on the ABC Prep and Landing site now. I understand that the first full-length special will be airing on your American tellyboxes once more this very night. It comes highly recommended, especially as family viewing.

Now… when do I get my Prep and Landing Blu-ray set? I bet I have to wait years.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
