McNeil Consumer Healthcare OTC Children's Product Recall. In April, McNeil Consumer Healthcare issued a voluntary recall of a several children's over-the-counter products, including Children's Tylenol, Children's Motrin and Children's Benadryl. The recall cited the potential of particles in some of the products, as well as a slightly higher concentration of certain active ingredients. While no adverse medical reactions prompted the recall, it was conducted as a precautionary measure.

Silly Bandz Banned. 2010's hottest kid's accessory -- multicolored, shaped rubber bands called Silly Bandz -- made their way onto the arms of millions of kids this year and they were the hot topic on school playgrounds. But some school districts deemed these stretchy bands a distraction and, in some cases, even dangerous. While kids loved to bring their collection of shaped bands to school and trade them with friends, Silly Bandz were eventually banned in some schools .
Mattel/Fisher-Price Toy Recall. Toy giant Mattel issued a massive toy recall in the fall that included trikes, inflatable balls -- even a popular high chair. With 46 model numbers, it was one of the most massive toy recalls ever.
