The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is in 84th year and is seen by over 3.5 million people in New York City and more than 50 million more by television, according to the parade's official website.
Arlo Guthrie revealed his planned appearance in the parade earlier this month to fans on his website.
"Well, now that the info has been officially released I can tell you the first of a few great things!" said Guthrie in the message. "I will be in the parade in New York on Thanksgiving Day! I haven't been in a parade for many years. The last time was in Pittsfield. This oughtta be fun! See you there or on TV."
Arlo Guthrie, is the son of American folk singer Woodie Guthrie, is well known for decades of songs, including "Alice's Restaurant" and "The Motorcycle Song."
