Retail experts predict robust after-Christmas sales to cap off an improved holiday season as shoppers make returns and hunt for bargains.
"People are going to be out in droves the day after Christmas," said Matt Powell of Princeton Retail Analysis, adding that since a Sunday follows the holiday, shoppers won’t need to take a day off work.
Shoppers Ready for After Christmas Sales
Stores and malls are preparing for the deluge: Target and JCPenney both announced after-Christmas sales this week starting at 7 a.m., with Target offering half off on some movies and JCPenney advertising discounts of 70 percent on select appliances, luggage and clothing.
Many New Jersey malls will also open their doors at 7 a.m. tomorrow, including Monmouth Mall, Newport Centre, Menlo Park Mall, Cherry Hill Mall and Freehold Raceway Mall.
