Jared Lee Loughner Shooting Suspect - Until yesterday's massacre, Jared Lee Loughner was a sometime community college student who went to high school in northwest Tucson, Arizona, and lived with his parents there in a quiet, working-class neighbourhood of ranch homes.

Perhaps the only clue to what lay ahead was the rambling rants the 22-year-old left on the internet.

Loughner posted a picture of a handgun on his MySpace page, with a photo of the White House behind the weapon and the words "United States History" also visible.

Loughner bragged he could create a "new currency" and "new language", and accused the US government of "mind control" and "brainwashing".

Depicting himself as an angry and sleep-deprived anti-government activist, he added "terrorism" could bring about reforms.

His favourite books were Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf, Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of Oz and Aesop's Fables. He also said he studied The Communist Manifesto.
