Ex-official park photographer Penny Boyd took shocking pictures of the carcasses at Knowsley Safari Park, and was so concerned about what she had seen that she told Knowsley council.
Her gruesome dossier showed a dead deer, allegedly left for at least four days, another deer allegedly left in a plastic container for at least 10 days; several animal carcasses left out in the open and a bloodied baboon in a bin bag.

Yesterday, park manager David Ross said there had been a full investigation into Ms Boyd’s allegations and assured visitors “robust new procedures” were now in place concerning the storage of dead animals.
The photographs – which were taken last year – have only just emerged.
Mr Ross admitted there had been a period over the Easter holidays last year when their carcass collection, which ran twice weekly, had not taken place.
But he said the dead animals were not in view of the public and the absence of a collection had been an “exception rather than the rule”.
