Honeybee Killer - Surveillance video from a weekend robbery and subsequent shooting at a tanning salon in Orland Park, Ill. was released Tuesday.

The video shows the dramatic moments inside the LA Tan location, as a customer confronts and then kills the alleged "honeybee killer."

The surveillance video shows a young female employee behind the counter, with suspect Gary Amaya, 48, entering the scene. After chatting with the employee for a brief moment, Amaya displays a gun in his right hand.

Amaya orders the female worker to tie herself up with rope in her chair. The worker obliges and is seen fumbling with the ropes.

Customer Jason McDaniel, 29, enters the salon, sees what's happening and offers the man cash.
"Take the money and go," he says.

Amaya pulls the gun out of his coat as McDaniel steps behind the counter. Amaya tells McDaniel he's going to tie him up. The suspect reaches for rope in a bag and briefly puts the gun on the counter, reports CBS station WBBM. McDaniel doesn't hesitate. He rushes Amaya, grabs the gun from the counter and elbows the suspect in the face. There is a struggle just out of the camera's view.

One shot rings out, and still Amaya rushes at McDaniel. The customer fires again and the suspect goes down.

Tests show that the weapon Amaya took into the LA Tan salon was the same weapon used in the so-called "honeybee" or "state line" shooting spree in early October.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
