Bowl Games Roundup - Many college football teams accepted bids to play in bowl games on Sunday. Here's a look at Sunday's announcements:

• Michigan will take on Mississippi State on Jan. 1 in the Gator Bowl.

• Penn State is heading to the Outback Bowl to face Florida on Jan. 1.

• Georgia Tech will play Air Force in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl Dec. 27 in Shreveport, La. (5 p.m. ET/ESPN2).

• South Carolina will face Florida State Dec. 31 in Atlanta at the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

• Maryland will face East Carolina in the Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman in Washington on Dec. 29.

• North Carolina will play Tennessee in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Dec. 30, in Nashville (6:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

• Boston College will face Nevada in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco on Jan. 9 at 9 p.m ET.

• Miami and Notre Dame have accepted invitations to play in the Hyundai Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas.

• Baylor will play Illinois in the Texas Bowl Dec. 29 at 6 p.m. ET.

• Texas Tech will face Northwestern in the TicketCity Bowl at the Cotton Bowl in the State Fairgrounds of Texas on Jan. 1.

• Louisville will play Southern Miss at the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla.

• Northern Illinois will face Fresno State in the uDrove Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho, at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 18.

Farm dogs maul Irish Tourist - An Irish tourist who was mauled to death by two dogs while visiting an organic farm in Penang yesterday morning had more than 50 bite wounds and lacerations all over his body. Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
