Woman Survives Ride on Van Hood - A California woman literally held on for her life, gripping the hood of her husband's car for 35 miles as he sped along a highway at speeds up to 100 mph.

The woman tried to stop her husband Christopher Carroll, 36, from driving while he was allegedly in the middle of a drug binge, that included methamphetamines, late Friday night. In an effort to stop him from pulling out of the driveway of their Manteca, Calif., home, she jumped on the hood. As he backed up she was thrown and her foot became stuck on the vehicle's side mirror.

"I was holding on literally by the tips of my fingers and basically my ankles," she told ABC affiliate KGO. "Now I know it was the stupidest thing in my life I've ever done, but I jumped on the hood of the van. He backed out quickly and when he did that it turned me and I got stuck," she said.

The woman, whom ABC News has chosen not to identify because she is the victim of domestic abuse, was able to look her husband in the eye through the windshield as he drove at speeds up to 100 mph, along a highway and through the mountains, heading towards San Francisco.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
