A parody website called Super Tuesday News wrote a fake news story that claimed Sarah Palin said that “if she were president, she would deport pop star Christina Aguilera for botching a portion of The Star-Spangled Banner during her performance at Super Bowl XLV.”
While the story is clearly a parody, one major publication fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Us Weekly published the news story before realizing it was a parody. The celebrity magazine, which has since deleted the story, listed the quotes as fact. Quotes Us Magazine published include Sarah Palin calling Christina Aguilera an "airhead diva" and saying Aguilera "doesn't understand something so basic about America."
