"The Grammys have kind of screwed up Valentine's Day for everybody here," the country singer, 34, told PEOPLE at the music-awards show on Sunday. "We're all going to get wasted tonight. I mean, we are. And we're going to feel like crap. The last thing we're going to want to do tomorrow is touch each other."
For her part, Lambert, 27 – who won Best Female Country Vocal Performance for "The House That Built Me" – said she's still expecting Shelton to step up today.
"We're going to be exhausted and traveling home all night long. So, we'll probably just be chill," she said. "But I'm not going to let him use that as a cop-out, definitely."
Hopefully, he won't hold it against her that she forgot to thank him in her Grammys acceptance speech. Asked backstage about the omission, Lambert told PEOPLE simply: "I forgot!"
Even if this year's Valentine's Day isn't very romantic, Shelton is ever the optimist. "Next year, maybe," he says, "if they can time it a little bit differently."
