According to The New York Times, theatregoers who attended Monday's performance of the show witnessed an unnamed actor fall almost ten feet when an aerial stunt went wrong.
The accident victim is thought to be the cast member playing the title character or his stunt double. The show's producers are yet to confirm details of the incident.
"The person taken away was the person playing Spider-Man at the time. He tried to get up and stagehands told him not to move," an eyewitness told BroadwayWorld.

"I was in the audience and I'm an NY EMT. Although I am not involved with the care of the patient they didn't use a back-board and collar so they don't suspect spinal injury."
It was previously reported that actress Natalie Mendoza suffered a concussion during a preview of the show. Aerialist Kevin Aubin later broke both wrists during a presentation, while an unidentified actor suffered a broken foot in a separate incident.
