Alfie Meadows, a philosophy student at Middlesex University, was struck as he tried to leave an area outside Westminster Abbey that was being kettled by police.
Mum Susan, 55, said: “Alfie said it was the hugest blow he’d ever felt. Before this happened he said: ‘Somebody’s going to get killed’. Of course the police must defend themselves but I don’t think hitting people very hard on the head is defence.”
