Tarrant County College Fined For Speech - Tarrant County College (TCC) is latest example for college administrators who try to defend the unconstitutional speech code of their institutions. The aftermath is very expensive. The Texas taxpayers learned a good lesson and even hard way, about 240,000 times harder.

The speech code of Tarrant County College was found uncostitutional in March and as an aftermath the litigation was coordinated by FIRE and American Civil Liberties Union of Texas (ACLU-TX). The two worked with Fort Worth attorney to challenge the speech code. These days the vide of the story is been documented by FIRE.

There was a quick impact of the lawsuit. Only two days after the filed complaint last year in November, a temporary restraining order was issued by a federal district court judge prohibiting TCC from such speech to the students of the school.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm. Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet. Interac and the banks tested Flash this summer at some high-volume, small-ticket merchants in downtown Toronto.
