Jenni-Lyn Watson Body Found

Jenni-Lyn Watson Body Found - Jenni-Lyn Watson, 20, vanished Nov. 19 from her parents' home in Clay after she tried to break up with obsessed on-again, off-again boyfriend Steven Pieper, 21, Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said.

Pieper, of upstate Liverpool, was arrested and charged with murder after a body believed to be Watson's was discovered yesterday about 2 miles north of the aspiring ballerina's home near Syracuse, Fitzpatrick said.

Eden Mishler, 21, a fellow dance major, said the couple had a rocky - and sometimes jealous - relationship. "She would talk to us, just saying, after they broke up, that he was trying to contact her and friend-request her on Facebook," she said. "She was avoiding him."

Investigators believe Pieper killed Watson, who attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., at her parents' house on Nov. 19 after she tried to end the relationship, Fitzpatrick said.

"We do not believe she left that house alive," he said.

A body, which has not been positively identified as Watson's, was discovered underneath debris behind a storage shed in Clay Central Park, Fitzpatrick said. Pieper was held without bail last night after pleading not guilty.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled today.
