The U.S. Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said the company discovered the problem as part of a labeling review by its quality assurance program. Egg is not listed as an ingredient on the packaging.
The recalled products were produced at the company’s Boaz, Alabama plant and were sold to food service distributors in 10 and 20 pound packages. No adverse effects have been reported from consumption of the products, according to the company and federal officials.
The inspection service said the wings were produced between January 1 and October 6, 2010. They were sent to 30 distribution centers to be sent out to restaurants.
