Advice about Relationship Age Gap - Age gaps in relationships can be overcome, but this also depends on the age obviously. For instance, 20 and 50 may be a little hard to manage, but closer ages like 25 and 40 can work.

The first thing couples with big age gaps face is family and friends. Most family and friends will not approve. If you are serious about your relationship, you need to ignore what everyone else thinks and concentration on your partner.

There will be some big obstacles to overcome. Firstly, being different ages, you and your partner may be at different stages in your life and therefore have different goals. The older partner may be ready to settle down while the younger partner might be more restless. The important thing here is to compromise.

Relationships with a big age gap may be difficult, but not impossible to make work. It all depends on the individuals in the relationship and how hard they are willing to work on it.

I WAS IN A AGE DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIP FOR 21 YEARS. AGE IS ONLY A NUMBER MY PARTNER WAS 37 1/2 YEARS OLDER THAN ME BUT WE HAD A VERY HEALTHY STRONG RELATIONSHIP THAT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAID WE WERE FOR EACH OTHER. I find that age gaps are more acceptable if the older partner in the relationship is willing to date someone older than themselves by the same number of years as the gap with their younger partner. For example, if the age gap is 15 years, the older partner should be willing to date someone 15 years their senior? This allows the older partner to see the age gap from the younger partner's viewpoint.
