Demi Lovato Reaches Settlement - Demi Lovato has reached a settlement with the dancer she struck while on tour in South America with the Jonas Brothers, sources said Friday.

The Disney Channel star, 18, allegedly punched Alex Welch, 21, after tour managers confronted Lovato about her behavior on the tour.

Donald Karpel, who represents Welch, told Access Hollywood, "There is a settlement and all of the issues have been amicably and completely resolved."

"I'm happy. We came to an agreement and I'm ready to move on," Welch told People. "I'm ready to start working again," she continued.

The specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Welch said part of the settlement would be donated to charity.

Lovato has been in treatment to address emotional and physical issues since November.

The settlement was first reported by People on Friday.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond. Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank. More issuers and acquirers are on the way, an Interac spokesperson tells Digital Transactions News, though no announcements have been made yet.
