Man Dies At Soldier Field - A man died Sunday afternoon after he fell out of Soldier Field and landed on a rooftop on the west side of the stadium, officials said.

The incident happened about 4:55 p.m. as the Bears and the Eagles were playing, according to Chicago police and fire department officials.

Stewart Haverty, 23, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 5:24 p.m. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not know Haverty's hometown.

The victim fell about 20 feet and landed on a small rooftop on the west side of the stadium near Lake Shore Drive, fire spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.

Haverty was taken in critical condition to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The fire department needed an aerial tower with a basket to get him down, Roccasalva said.

Witnesses told emergency personnel that they saw the man run up to the ledge and jump.

The incident is the second fatal fall in a week at a major sports arena. On Nov. 21 in Los Angeles, a 2-year-old died after plunging 50 feet from a Staples Center luxury suite.

The boy, Lucas Anthony Tang, had been crawling around the suite during the Lakers game against the Golden State Warriors, sources said. At some point, his parents noticed he was missing and began to look for him.

Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport. Contactless Debit Cards - Contactless debit cards will make their formal debut in Canada next year with the launch of Interac Flash from Acxsys Corp.’s Interac Association, Canada’s national debit network. Interac’s first two Flash issuers are Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank, which will roll out their first contactless cards next summer. The first acquirer is TD Merchant Services, a unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank.
