This is the first postseason tourney game for the Billikens (20-11) since the 2004 NIT. SLU finished fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference with an 11-5 league mark.
Indiana State (17-14) was 9-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference and lost to Illinois State at the MVC Tournament in St. Louis.
The winner of this game advances to a March 22 quarterfinal game against either Akron or Wisconsin-Green Bay. The first three rounds of the CBI are single-elimination, followed by a best-of-three series for the title with the higher seed hosting two games.
The Billiken ticket office at Chaifetz Arena opens at 8:30 p.m. today.
