Yannick Brea Murdered By Ugly Betty Star - 'Ugly Betty' actor Michael Brea has allegedly murdered his 55-year-old mother by severing her head with a 3-foot long samurai sword while chanting biblical incantations. The 31-year-old actor, who appeared in some episodes of the hit US TV series, was accused of slicing Yannick Brea's head at their Brooklyn, New York home, TMZ reported. "I hear the brother chasing her (his mother) through the house and he's just saying a bunch of (Bible) passages like, 'Repent, Repent,Repent'," said a neighbour. "I heard him chasing her through the house and I hear a loud scream and so I have my father call the cops, call 911." Brea was arrested Tuesday morning after police found him clutching a bible and repeating verses of repentance and religion from it. Meijer Recalls Heaters - Meijer, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, voluntarily recalled about 6,700 Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters due to fire and burn hazards they pose. The CPSC announced the defective product recall on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010. Meijer initiated the recall of Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters upon discovering that the heater’s oscillating mechanism has the potential to short out, leaving consumers susceptible to fire hazards. The Michigan-based importer received word of two incidents in which the flaw caused a fire to ignite, resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled ceramic heaters as of yet. According to the CPSC news release, “This recall involves Touch Point PTC oscillating ceramic heater with model number PTC-902 and serial numbers between 35005-43008. Tonga Holds First Vote - Residents of the tiny Pacific island of Tonga voted Thursday for their first popularly-elected parliament, with King George Tupou V hailing the moment as "the greatest" day in its history. Tonga's 42,000 voters will elect 17 of the 26 members of parliament, with the remaining nine reserved for the kingdom's nobility. Electoral officials said voting was "steady" and provisional results were expected late Thursday. Previously the parliament was dominated by politicians selected by the monarch, who also picked the prime minister and cabinet. The swing towards democracy follows riots in the capital Nuku'alofa four years ago, which claimed eight lives and destroyed much of the business centre as people protested against the slow pace of political reform. Ben Massi - This should come as little surprise, but Ben Massey of 86 Forever is one person happy to hear about the Canadian Soccer Association's moratorium decision. The American soccer leagues have never been as stable as their defenders pretend, while professional soccer in Canada is at an all-time high point in popularity. Obviously, Massey is using entirely different standards for the two sides to make this argument. Division 2 instability is not simply about butts in seats and the relative popularity of the sport in Canada does not guarantee league stability. He does, however, make some compelling points about the need for a truly national domestic league, something the country of 33 million people has lacked since the demise of the Canadian Soccer League in 1992. South Korea Raises Security After North Korea Attack - South Korea's president is vowing to boost security around islands near the site of this week's artillery attack by North Korea. The comments Thursday came during a meeting of top government officials aimed at reviewing security and economic impacts of the exchange of fire Tuesday that left four South Koreans dead and the region on edge. Yonhap news agency reported that South Korean President Lee Myung-bak ordered his officials to beef up security around islands off South Korea's western coast.
