Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu

Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu is a popular extension of the Kurtlar Vadisi series aired in turkey over recent years. It involves a Turkish secret agent, Polat Alemdar, who goes undercover to infiltrate the Turkish mafia. The Kurtlar Vadisi series has been a smashing hit in Turkey and even led to a full length movie called Kurtlar Vadisi Irak, which broke records when released.

Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu sees Polat Alemdar slowly moving away from reporting to the secret service as the corruption reaches very high places. He sees his friends around him slowly die one by one as he wages war against all that is corrupt.

The Kurtlar Vadisi series has made Polat Alemdar the hero of Turkey. Each episode is following fanatically by millions of people. I can't see the Kurtlar Vadisi series stop airing any time soon. The Turkish people just can't get enough.

Guidepoint Global Subpoenaed

Guidepoint Global Subpoenaed - Guidepoint Global, an "expert network" research firm, got a subpoena from William Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, according to a statement Tuesday from Galvin's office. Galvin said he subpoenaed Guidepoint in connection with its dealing with a Massachusetts registered hedge fund. The Massachusetts Securities Division learned of the contractual relationship between the hedge fund and Guidepoint during a routine examination of the fund in May. Recently, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder disclosed the widening federal investigation into the so-called expert consultants' role and the possibility of insider trading at big mutual and hedge funds, Galvin's office noted. The Massachusetts investigation focuses on a much smaller hedge fund, with less than $20 million under management. GuidePoint Global was recently referred to in a press account as the firm that employed Dr. Yves Benhamou a French doctor charged with …

Woman Confesses to 1987 Kidnapping - A woman who raised a child who went missing from a New York hospital 23 years ago was ordered detained on Monday on kidnapping charges, a day after she confessed to snatching the baby and turned herself in.

According to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. federal court in Manhattan, Ann Pettway admitted to taking the victim from a Harlem hospital and bringing her to Connecticut. She is charged with one count of kidnapping.

Pettway, 49, was ordered detained and did not apply for bail at a brief hearing on Monday. Dressed in a dark blue jail smock, she did not enter a plea.

She faces up to life in prison if convicted and is due back in court on February 7.

Pettway told investigators she had been dealing with the stress of several miscarriages.

"She's pretty upset," said Robert Baum, her attorney. "She understands the gravity of the charges."
