Toddler Locked in Overhead Bin - A Virgin Blue flight attendant was fired after an angry mother claimed he locked her toddler son in an overhead bin, the Sunday Herald Sun reports. Natalie Williamson told the newspaper that she, her 17-month-old son, Riley, and her now estranged husband were traveling on a Virgin flight from Fiji to Sydney, Australia, when the flight attendant picked up Riley, placed him in the overhead bin and shut the door. Virgin confirmed that the incident did occur but said Williamson's husband was playing a peek-a-boo game with Riley when the flight attendant joined in. "We conducted a thorough investigation of the incident and the staff member involved was subsequently terminated," a Virgin spokeswoman told the Herald Sun. Williamson said that Virgin Blue offered her free flights, but she said she is too shaken by the incident to redeem them. East Coast Rapist Attempts Suicide - Aaron Thomas, the man suspected of raping 17 women over a span of 13 years in four different states, attempted suicide in his New Haven, Conn., jail Saturday, police said. Thomas, 39, was arrested Friday after police matched a DNA sample taken from him to the profile of the suspect known as the "East Coast Rapist." He tried to hang himself in his cell, police said. He was taken to the hospital for a few hours, but was back in jail Saturday night, according to police. Thomas is scheduled to appear Monday in New Haven Superior Court on charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He is being held on $1 million bond, New Haven Police Lt. Julie Johnson said. At a press conference Saturday, officials praised the decade-long efforts of police to capture the serial rape suspect, which were stepped up early this week with a new website and billboard ad campaign. Cyndi Lauper Sings at Airport - Cyndi Lauper is proving that she can still have fun! Over the weekend, the 80s pop star, dressed in dark sunglasses and a headdress, grabbed a PA microphone at Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires and performed her hit song "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." Her impromptu singing was reportedly in an effort to help airport staff calm the delayed passengers. Cary Elwes Wonder Woman

Cary Elwes Wonder Woman - David E. Kelley's "Wonder Woman" television pilot continues to cast big names. Cary Elwes ("Saw," "The Princess Bride") is the latest actor to join the cast. He'll play the CEO of Themyscira Industries — the company owned by Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. British actress-model Elizabeth Hurley is working out visa issues in order to play villainess Veronica Cale, a recurring character. And Pedro Pascal has been locked for the character of Ed Indelicato, a police officer who befriends Wonder Woman. Adrianne Palicki ("Friday Night Lights") stars as the title character. Rolonda Watts DUI - A car crash in Beverly Hills and a DUI charge in Hollywood lead the celebrity crime blotter. The DUI is in Hollywood, former talk show host and news anchor Rolonda Watts was arrested "at 1:30 AM in Hollywood and was booked into jail in Van Nuys at 4:07 AM," reports TMZ. Beverly Hills police have revealed David Arquette has been injured in a car accident in Beverly Hills. (See photo above). Arquette's car reportedly veered into oncoming traffic while he was trying to avoid another car that stopped suddenly, according to US reports. The drivers were the only occupants of the cars and both were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department. Liquor Store Rampage - An angry woman on a bottle-breaking rampage swept through a West Nyack liquor store. Police said she didn't steal anything, she just wrecks the place. "I am angry about it. I've never seen this happen. In 25 years, in the business, I've never seen anyone do something like this.," said Chris Giacopelli, son of store owner. The clerks on duty told police the woman came right in the front door and stormed right over to the counter, wanting to jump the line. They said she was very upset. Surveillance video shows her arguing with the clerk about 30 seconds after she walked in. Brady Bundchen Carnival - Photos have appeared on the internet which show NFL QB Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Giselle Bundchen touching down at the Rio De Janerio Airport over the weekend. Bundchen is a native of Brazil and the supercouple are in the country to celebrate the Carnival season which is currently ongoing. It is somewhat of a trying time for Brady as the NFL players and the NFL owners are still locked in negotations trying to work out a collective bargaining agreement. Nevada Mine Dies - Three days after he plunged nearly 200 feet down a rural Nevada mine shaft, a 28-year-old man was declared dead Saturday. Emergency workers, mine officials and relatives had kept vigil since the man fell Wednesday. Rescue efforts were abandoned Friday because of the mine's treacherous condition. A camera lowered into the shaft showed the unidentified man, from Battle Mountain, Nev., was unconscious but still breathing. A priest gave him last rites Friday. Skippy Peanut Butter Recall - The manufacturer of Skippy peanut butter issued a recall today of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread, saying that jars of the product issued in 16 states may be contaminated with salmonella. Unilever United States, Inc., made the announcement today that some jars of the peanut butter may contain the organism, which can cause fatal infections in young children and frail or elderly people. No illnesses linked to the potentially tainted peanut butter have been reported so far, the release said. Consumers who have purchased the potentially tainted peanut butter are urged to discard the jars and contact the company for a replacement coupon at 1-800-453-3432.
