Clare Grant

Clare Grant - February must mark the month of love. Actress Clare Grant is Seth Green’s fiance. Apparently, congratulations are in order here! Find out more exciting details and see photos and a video below.

Another Hollywood wedding is obviously in the works. Congrats to Seth Green, 36, for asking and Clare Grant, 30 for saying yes!

As a biography, Clare Grant was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 23, 1979 so her age is 30. She is an actress and a model. She is the oldest of eight children. Grant has appeared in a brief role in the famouse “Walk the Line” and continues to work in the television and film industry. You can see her in the following: Walk the Line (2006), Masters of Horror: Valerie on the Stairs (2006), Happenstance (2006), Black Snake Moan (2006), Robot Chicken (2009), $5 Cover (2009), Daylight Fades (2009), and The Graves (2009). She currently resides in Los Angeles.

It is now official that Seth Green and Clare Grant will tie the knot! It is said that Green asked Grant to be his wife on New Year’s Eve. How they kept that under wraps is beyond me, but well done! Reportedly, they plan to wed later, sometime in May.

It is said that the couple went public with their engagement at the Tarina Tarantino Sephora launch party in Hollywood and exclaimed, “Yeah, we did it!”

A source close to Seth Green’s fiance noted that Tarantino is supposedly already working on a customized wedding day hairpiece, and also gifts to give to her bridesmaids.

You can see Clare in her latest indie horror film called, “The Graves”. She is currently taping “Hatchet 2″.

Seth is most-known for his role in “Austin Powers” and continues in offering his voice of Chris on “The Family Guy”.

Robbie Hummel Knee Injury

Robbie Hummel Knee Injury - One unfortunate step by Robbie Hummel has put Purdue's Final Four hopes in jeopardy.

The do-it-all junior forward will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The injury occurred during the first half of No. 3 Purdue's 59-58 win over Minnesota on Wednesday. Purdue made the announcement after Hummel underwent an MRI examination on Thursday afternoon.

"Injuries are a part of the game, but this is obviously disappointing on multiple levels because of everything Robbie Hummel has done for this program both on and off the court," Purdue head coach Matt Painter said in a statement. "As he begins his recovery and rehab, Robbie will continue to provide integral leadership as we pursue our team goals down the stretch."

Jim Cooper

Jim Cooper - Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper just spoke at the summit about deficit reduction. In my mind, the moderate Democrat is exactly the kind of legislator that Washington needs. He talks about controlling the deficit while at the same time backing that belief up with tough votes.

Cooper has been around the health care debate since the Clinton attempt in 1994. He knows the ins-and-outs of health policy, including the finances of such care.

So, his voice mattered when he just warned members of both parties that if they are planning to finance the overhaul bills through cutting Medicare they must be willing to back that belief up with tough votes.

He then pointed out how seven senators who once backed the Senate's plan to set up a bipartisan deficit commission took a pass when that idea came up recently. He didn't name them, but, sadly, John McCain was one of them. I hope that stung McCain because he knew full well that the deficit and debt are big problems and that a commission is our best -- and perhaps last -- hope for dealing with them.

Bottom line: If Congress is going to pass a health care bill that is largely paid for through Medicare reductions, I hope legislators pass the Cooper test and make the tough votes when it comes to cutting Medicare.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage - Millions of seniors who signed up for popular private health plans through Medicare are facing sharp premium increases this year, another sign that spiraling costs are a problem even for those with solid insurance.

A study released Friday by a major consulting company found that premiums for Medicare Advantage plans offering medical and prescription drug coverage jumped 14.2 percent on average in 2010, after an increase of 5.2 percent the previous year. Some 8.5 million elderly and disabled people are in the plans, which provide more comprehensive coverage than traditional Medicare, often at lower cost.

The higher Medicare Advantage premiums for 2010 follow a cut in government payments to the private plans last year. And the Democratic bills pending in Congress call for even more cuts, which are expected to force many seniors to drop out of what has been a rapidly growing alternative to traditional Medicare.

Republicans have seized on the Medicare Advantage cuts in their campaign to derail the health-care bills, and polls show seniors are more skeptical of the legislation than the public as a whole.

At a town hall meeting Friday outside Las Vegas, President Obama said the Medicare Advantage plans are getting a "sweet deal" from the government, overpayments averaging 13 percent. "All we've been saying is let's make sure that there's a competitive bidding process and that we are getting the absolute best bargain," Obama said.

Tom Harkin

Pressing a key argument of President Barack Obama, Sen. Tom Harkin has told lawmakers at a health care summit that a step-by-step legislative response to the problem wouldn't bring about genuine reform.

The Iowa Democrat likened the incremental approach urged by Republicans to a swimmer who is "50 feet off shore drowning and you throw him a 10-foot rope."

Harkin said it is not practical to do "this kind of incremental approach that I hear others talk about." Obama has argued from the outset against a piecemeal approach. And Harkin buttressed, saying that "it all hangs together. You can't pick one part out."

Harkin said the private insurance system currently segregates people in risk pools depending on their health.
