Palmetto Tennis Center Will Host USTA Tournament

Palmetto Tennis Center Will Host USTA Tournament - The Palmetto Tennis Center has been awarded a United States Tennis Association (USTA) junior national tournament for the first time in the facility's six-year history.

The USTA Junior & Collegiate Competition Department recently said the Segment III National Tournament, a National Level 3 event, has been scheduled for Sept. 3-5, 2011, at the PTC.
"It's going to open up a lot of other opportunities for us," said PTC director Sam Kiser when asked what hosting such a tournament means to the center. "This will open the door for us to get more Southern level and national level tournaments. "We've already had someone call showing interest in us hosting an adult and seniors tournament. It takes a pretty big facility to host Southern and national tournaments. There are only so many nice facilities large enough to do it."

The tournament will have divisions for boys and girls ages 16 and under as well as boys and girls ages 18 and under.

The top 32 players in each age division based on the USTA National Point Standings will be accepted into the event.

The event is open to all USTA Junior players in the country. However, while a national tournament, the USTA is offering more national events this year.

"Most of these kids will be East Coast players," Kiser said. "They regionalized some of the national tournaments to cut down on the travel."

That doesn't mean the competition level will suffer, according to Kiser.

"All of the players should be ranked in the top 100 in their age groups," he said. "That means you're talking about players who are major (NCAA) Division I prospects."

Giants Stadium Lights Go Out

Giants Stadium Lights Go Out - The New Meadowland went completely dark for a few seconds in the third quarter of the Giants game against the Dallas Cowboys. Nearly 81,000 fans sat in total darkness for a few second at the Giants new $1.6 billion stadium while play was halted.

Backup lights came on almost immediately, but play was held up by two brownouts for a total of 11 minutes in the Cowboys 33-20 win over the Giants.

"It was kind of bizarre," Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said. "I've never been a part of anything like it and hopefully I never will again."

Several banks of lights went out at 6 pm EST, just 10 seconds into the third period. Mark Lamping, the chief operating officer of the stadium, estimated that the lights were only out for about five or six seconds. The game was delayed for about three minutes. During that time several fights broke out in the stands.

Two plays after the initial blackout, Dallas scored on a 71-yard Felix Jones touchdown. On the ensuing series, the Giants ran five plays before the entire stadium went dark again. The backup lights came on and the players and refs tried to figure out what to do.

There wasn't enough light to continue to play, so the teams were forced to wait eight minutes before they could proceed with the game. By the end of the game it was the visiting team who put out the lights of their hosts.

"Power was lost when one of the two feeders to the stadium experienced a power interruption," Lamping explained in a statement. "A second power interruption occurred to the second feeder, causing a full outage. Functionality to the original feeder was restored. We are currently investigating the original cause of the interruption."

Tiger Woods To Return For 2011 Australian Masters

Tiger Woods To Return For 2011 Australian Masters - U.S. golfer Tiger Woods said on Monday he is eager to return to Australia for the 2011 Australian Masters.

At the final round of Australian Masters on Sunday, former World No.1 Woods started at 10 strokes off the lead, managed to make two eagles over the final four holes and shot 65 to match his best score of the year at Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne.

He secured a fourth-place finish at seven-under-par 277, which left him three shots behind winner Stuart Appleby of Australia.

"I'd love to come back for it and play. It's not only a top-notch tournament but it would also be great prep (for the President's Cup) for all the American players coming out as well," Woods told Australia Associated Press on Sunday night.

"Playing this type of course, getting used to the bounce, all that."

According to Bloomberg, the fourth place finish did not deter fans who followed Woods at the Victoria Golf Club in their thousand. Bloomberg reported that Woods was still the big attraction to the media around the world.

Woods's appearance fee was about three million U.S. dollars, half of which was paid for by the local state government of Victoria.

2009 Australian Masters set a new benchmark for Australian golf with record crowds and television audiences and delivered in excess of 34 million U.S. dollars to the Victorian economy.

"He's still worth every cent of investment," Bob Tuohy, a former professional player who set up Adelaide-based golf management company Tuohy Associates told Blooberg on Monday.

"You take him out and the event just wouldn't have the same appeal. Obviously the guy has had some tough times lately but he's still a very marketable asset."

Antonio Margarito Has Broken Orbital Bone

Antonio Margarito Has Broken Orbital Bone - He beat him so badly, in fact, that Margarito will be forced to undergo facial surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone in his face, according to ESPN.com

Margarito's face was cut open during the fight and was incredibly swollen by the end of the 12th round, but the Mexican fighter did finish the fight before losing a unanimous decision to Pacquiao.

"The was no way I was going to quit," Margarito said. "I'm a Mexican, we fight until the end."
If Margarito were in the other corner, though, on Saturday night, he might not have been allowed to finish.

"I was surprised how tough he was," said Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach. "He has the worst corner. They probably ruined his career by not stopping the fight."

Pacquiao also shared concern for Margarito during the fight.

"I told the referee, 'Look at his eyes, look at his cuts,'" he said. "I did not want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing is about."

Quidditch World Cup 2010 Gets Underway In NY

Quidditch World Cup 2010 Gets Underway In NY - They swooped in from 16 states and 46 colleges - all for a sport that was born out of wizards and witches flying around on broomsticks - and J.K. Rowling's imagination.

"When you first hear about it you think there's no way this could work in real life," said Alex. "And when you see it, it's a cool game and you don't have to be a Harry Potter fan to appreciate it."

It's the 2010 Quidditch World Cup in New York City, a sport described as a cross between rugby, dodge ball and tag. It's also "complicated," said one player. "There are over 700 rules in Quidditch."

Seven players from each team storm an oval shaped field. The "chasers" try to score by hurling volleyballs through hoops. The "beaters" try to stop them.

"It's hard to describe when you see it, you get it," said Alex.

Of course, transforming a game that requires magic in movies requires a healthy dose of imagination.

"I don't want it to be taken too seriously," said Alex. "All of our announcers are improv comedians. Some players have advocated we get rid of the brooms and I say no way! Because that keeps it kid of ridiculous and that's the way I want it to stay!"

Quiddich is even more challenging because it is played with one arm.

"It's hard to run with a broom between your legs," said Devon. "Quidditch is not for the meek. It's a game that requires physical and mental toughness."

The first wave of Harry Potter readers are in college now.

"People say, 'you're playing quidditch, that's so nerdy,' but we say watch the game!" said one Harvard student. "It's a contact sport. It's a lot rougher than you think!"

Skydiver/Athlete Roberta Mancino

Skydiver/Athlete Roberta Mancino - Roberta Mancino isn't just the world's sexiest skydiver. She's the sexiest woman in all of sports, according to a new poll by Men's Fitness magazine.

What makes the 30-year-old Italian beauty so special? Is it her fearless, adrenaline-fueled approach to life? Her track record of 4,000 death-defying jumps? Or the four leaps she made while entirely naked?

Whatever it is, she's flying high these days, after overcoming the natural fear of hurtling toward Earth all alone at shocking speeds. "When I had a fewer number of jumps, I thought maybe I was going to die," she admits, "but now I can't live without skydiving because it has become my life."

And those four nude jumps – didn't it get a little breezy out there? "It was chilly," she says, "but once I jumped it was a nice feeling to have the wind against my body and to not have a jumpsuit or any clothes flapping against me."

Elizabeth Smart

Elizabeth Smart - Dressed in a beige coat, the young woman walked quickly as she braved a phalanx of photographers and TV cameramen that would have flattered even an A-list Hollywood star. But this was no red carpet scene.

It was outside the courthouse in Salt Lake City and the woman was Elizabeth Smart, 23, plucked from obscurity and into national fame by one of the most horrific kidnappings in US criminal history. The story of that crime, which saw a 14-year-old Smart held captive for nine months and forcibly "married" to a man who considered himself a Mormon prophet, stunned America in 2002.

The bizarre details of the incident have finally emerged. Smart last week gave three days of testimony in the trial of Brian David Mitchell, a former street preacher who crept into her bedroom and spirited her away into the mountains at knifepoint.

All week Smart's story gripped Salt Lake City, dominating newspapers and TV shows, and was followed across the US. "There is tremendous interest about this case. It is every parent's worst nightmare: your child abducted in the dead of night. It's the script of a horror movie," said Paul Cassell, a law lecturer at the University of Utah.

Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee, say they kept Smart prisoner out of a belief that God had ordered him to kidnap young girls to be his brides. Smart has told how she was raped almost daily as she was transported from Utah to California and back. At one stage they kept her tied to a tree and almost always lived rough in the mountains, setting up camps.

Elizabeth Smart

Eventually Smart was rescued as the trio walked down a suburb in Salt Lake City with their victim so traumatised she first denied who she was. But to some, the Smart kidnapping is more than just a horrific crime. It appears deeply tied up in the history and culture of the Mormon religion, whose founders came to Utah and Salt Lake City in the 19th century to escape persecution of their new and controversial faith.

Golf: Paula Creamer Shoots 66

Golf: Paula Creamer Shoots 66 - U.S. Women's Open champion Paula Creamer shot a 6-under 66 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead over Norway's Suzann Pettersen in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

Creamer birdied two of the final three holes to reach 10 under on the Guadalajara Country Club course.

"I'm pleased with the way I'm hitting the ball, and I'm putting very well," Creamer said. "Consistently, I'm rolling the putts the way that I want to, and that's all I can ask for is to give myself as many opportunities as I can."

Creamer finished second last year, two strokes behind Michelle Wie.

"I really like coming here," Creamer said. "I enjoy the golf course. It sets up very well for my game. It's not the longest golf course that we play all year, but you have to hit a lot of fairways and you have to be very precise with your irons and that kind of suits my game. But coming in second last year, I definitely wanted to come back and give myself a good chance to win."

Wie withdrew Thursday because of a back injury after an opening 78.

Ochoa followed her first-round 74 with a 71 on her home course, leaving her 26th at 1 over in her first LPGA Tour event since retiring in April.

"I'm not going to say that I don't have chances anymore," Ochoa said. "But I guess right now, it's out of my hands what the other players do. I'm going to try to get here tomorrow, probably going to play early again and shoot a low round."

First-round leader Cristie Kerr was tied for 14th at 4 under. After opening with a tournament-record 64, the third-ranked American shot a 76 in the second round. She had two back-nine double bogeys.

Pettersen had a 65, matching Meena Lee for the best round of the day in the 35-player field.
Pettersen played the back nine in 6-under 30, birdieing Nos. 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 18.
"I gave myself some really good chances and made some good putts," Pettersen said. "Finally I'm getting the ball in the hole. So obviously that's going to help the scorecard."

Rossi, who lost his title to Jorge Lorenzo this season, also broke his leg in June but was back racing after just six weeks.

"I have such a structure when I'm working on Potter," Entertainment Weekly reported Watson as saying.

"Every single second of my day is not in my power."

The English actress, who appears as Hermione Granger in all eight of the fantasy films, says she reached breaking point while filming the upcoming two-part Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

"I hate to sound whiny but it's horrible," Watson said.

Kanye West Cancels Today Show Appearance

Kanye West Cancels Today Show Appearance - Kanye West has canceled a November 26th performance on the Today show, because the Chicago emcee is in the middle of a feud with the show's host, Matt Lauer.

Kanye accused Lauer of attempting to "force his answers" and was upset when the show played archived footage of his encounters with Taylor Swift and former President George W. Bush as he attempted to answer questions.

The interview, which was shown on Thursday (November 11th), was followed up with a short segment by Lauer defending his interviewing tactics and denied doing anything "improper."

“I’m not performing on the Today show for obvious reasons," Kanye West tweeted last night (November 11th). "I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up.’"

John Travolta Dashes Home For Pregnant Wife

John Travolta Dashes Home For Pregnant Wife - Mr Travolta had dashed to the airport in Brisbane to fly his personal jet back to the US to be with his heavily pregnant wife, Kelly Preston.

While it was initially reported that Preston was about to give birth their third child, a spokesperson for the couple today denied she had gone into labour.

Preston is due on November 26 and the couple have already decided to name the unborn boy Benjamin.

Earlier this month she had Braxton Hicks contractions, which is also know as fake labour.
The 56-year-old actor and pilot had previously promised Miss Preston that he would be at her side when the baby was born - even if it meant an unexpected 22-hour flight across the Pacific to Los Angeles.

Mr Travolta had been due to arrive in Perth as the main celebrity at a charity event, at which he was to receive the key to the city from Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi.

'We completely understand that his family comes first,' said Mr Ray Wardrop, general manager of Australia's Channel Seven TV network, which was organising the event.

Margarito Required Face Surgery After Pacquiao Fight

Margarito Required Face Surgery After Pacquiao Fight - Antonio Margarito was determined to make it to the end of his fight with Manny Pacquiao on Saturday no matter what, and he wound up paying a severe price as a result.

Margarito will have surgery on Tuesday at Dallas Methodist Hospital to repair a fractured right eye socket, said promoter Bob Arum. Arum explained the surgery can’t be performed until the swelling on the eye has reduced.

Pacquiao’s speed was far too much for Margarito to handle Saturday in their bout for the World Boxing Council super welterweight title before 41,734 fans at Cowboys Stadium. Pacquiao landed fast, hard combinations from the earliest moments of the fight and Margarito could not answer.

Ringside physician Manuel Gonzalez, who started checking Margarito in the fourth round and last checked him after the 11th round, said Saturday he felt Margarito could see, so he didn’t recommend to referee Laurence Cole to stop the match. Trainer Robert Garcia said Margarito would not allow him to halt it. Pacquiao started pointing out the damage during the ninth round, but Cole did not stop the fight.

“He’s in very good spirits and he’s not in pain,” Arum said. “They just have to wait until the swelling reduces, then they can do the surgery and he’ll be released to fly home.”

Arum said Margarito’s team, including co-managers Francisco Espinoza and Sergio Diaz, remained in Dallas with him and will fly home to Southern California together on Wednesday, if he is released as expected.

Arum said that as far as is known now, the injury is not career-threatening. Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach said after the fight Saturday that Garcia “probably ruined his career by not stopping the fight.”

Somali Pirates Free British Sailors

Somali Pirates Free British Sailors - The retired British couple were sailing the world on a 38-foot-yacht that represented most of their life savings when Somali pirates captured them last year, demanding the sort of huge ransom a multimillionaire or a multinational company might cough up.

The fact that Paul and Rachel Chandler couldn't pay a big ransom helped stretch out their ordeal 388 agonizing days — until Sunday, when they were released thin and exhausted, but smiling. It was one of the longest and most dramatic hostage situations since the Somali piracy boom began several years ago.

The Chandlers were welcomed by the Somali community close to where they had been held, and later met with the Somali prime minister in Mogadishu. A private jet then flew them to Nairobi's military airport, where they were whisked away in a British Embassy vehicle.

"We are happy to be alive, happy to be here, desperate to see our family, and so happy to be amongst decent, everyday people, Somalis, people from anywhere in the world who are not criminals, because we've been a year with criminals and that's not a very nice thing to be doing," Rachel Chandler said at a news conference in Mogadishu.

She also said in a BBC interview that their captors beat them during their captivity after deciding to separate the couple.

"We were really distraught, very frightened at that point," Chandler said. "We refused to be separated and we were beaten as a result. And that was very traumatic."
When asked about their health, she said "we're OK."

China Inflation Jumps To Two Year Highs

China Inflation Jumps To Two Year Highs - A jump in food costs drove China's inflation to a 25-month high in October despite government efforts to cool living costs, raising the possibility it might impose new controls that could further slow economic growth.

The 4.4 percent inflation rate - due mostly to a 10.1 percent increase for food - was far above the official target of 3 percent and a sharp jump from September's 3.6 percent, official figures showed Thursday. The increases exceeded forecasts by private sector analysts.

While other governments try to shore up shaky growth, Beijing wants to cool inflation and guide China's rapid expansion to a more sustainable level after its stimulus-fueled rebound from the global crisis. It raised interest rates last month and ordered banks on Wednesday to increase reserves in a move to curb lending.

Inflation is so far limited to food but could spread as money from Beijing's stimulus and a flood of bank lending courses through the economy, said William Hess, managing director of China Analytics, a Beijing research firm.

"They're going to have to be very careful about how they manage inflation overall," Hess said. "They don't want it to spread more broadly and contribute to a broader public concern about where prices are heading."

Megamind Continues To Dominate Box Office

Megamind Continues To Dominate Box Office - Will Ferrell's dastardly schemes continue to succeed, with the animated "Megamind" staying at the top of the box office.

The DreamWorks Animation 3-D comedy, featuring Ferrell as the voice of a super villain, made just over $30 million in its second week in theaters, according to Sunday studio estimates. It's now made nearly $90 million total. "Megamind" also features the voices of Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill.

Opening in second place is the 20th Century Fox action thriller "Unstoppable," starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as railroad workers trying to stop a massive runaway train. It made $23.5 million. The movie is based on a 2001 Ohio incident in which a train carrying hazardous cargo traveled 66 miles without a crew.

Last week's No. 2 film, "Due Date," fell to the third spot with $15.5 million. The Warner Bros. comedy features Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis as opposites stuck together on a cross-country road trip. It's now made $59 million in two weeks.
Among the weekend's other new releases, "Skyline" opened in fourth place with $11.7 million. The Universal Pictures sci-fi thriller depicts aliens invading and destroying Los Angeles. And "Morning Glory," a Paramount comedy set in a network morning show starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton, opened at No. 5 with about $9.6 million.

Anne Globe, head of worldwide marketing for DreamWorks Animation, said positive word of mouth helped "Megamind" remain on top.

"It's exciting because audiences are clearly responding very well to the movie," said Globe. "This was a decided No. 1 again. We were only down 35 percent, which is a pretty terrific hold for the movie."

But "Megamind" is the rare family movie in theaters these days, which also helps, said Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarabedian. Next week, the feverishly anticipated first half of the "Harry Potter" finale, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1," debuts.

Sarah Maynard Has Been Found

Sarah Maynard Has Been Found - Sarah Maynard, 13 was found this morning according to the police on Columbus Road and she was taken to the children’s hospital. We don’t know yet nothing about her condition.

A mother with her two children, and their friend were disappeared from Ohio in mysterious circumstances.
According to police, nothing suggests that they had been abducted.
But when they found the mother’s car at a boarding school, students were locked inside and the police warned of a “potentially dangerous person could be near.”

Authorities and residents in Ohio are looking for two women and two children who had been missing for several days,
The police have found blood in the house at the home of Tina Herrmann, 32, and her children Sarah Maynard, 13, and Kody Maynard, 10, said Sheriff David Barber on Friday.

Although Stephanie Sprang, 41, a friend of Tina Herrmann, is missing too.

Herrmann did not come to work on Wednesday. A police went twice to her house and knocked. The lights were on and the car was standing in the driveway – but no one answered the door. The kids were in school on Wednesday but not Thursday. The following day the Herrmann’s job manager went into the house – and discovered a pool of blood.

- All I can say is that there is a large amount. It does not come from someone who encounters a toe, or cutting her finger, “said David Barbier.

The friend, Stephanie Sprang’s car was then parked outside the house – but Tina Herrmann’s car was gone.

A spokesperson for the school, told the AP that there was a suspect with ties to the missing at the school, and that authorities were looking for that person. Since then, the FBI is also engaged.

Neighbours and friends in the area are chains, and the police search party looking methodically through the area. Among other things we think about the sending down divers in a lake nearby. The children’s father, Larry Maynard, says he “expects the worst, but hoping for the best”. Tina Herrmann’s boyfriend, Greg Borders, will be consulted but he is not suspected of anything.

Saddle Tramps Motorcycle Club Motorcycle Crash

Saddle Tramps Motorcycle Club Motorcycle Crash - Five people were killed and six injured Saturday in a head-on collision involving seven motorcyclists and one car on a rural highway a few miles north of the Mexican border, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities are looking for the driver of a second car that is believed to have triggered the crash and then left the scene.

Four of the dead belonged to a Lakeside motorcycle club called the Saddle Tramps, according to CHP Officer Deeann Goudie. Goudie said the club was celebrating its 10th anniversary Saturday with a ride across the desert.

The members met at 9 a.m. for breakfast in Lakeside before getting on the road, Goudie said. They were riding east on Route 98 near Ocotillo, about 80 miles out of San Diego, when a gold Honda Accord revved up behind them and tried to pass.

A white Dodge Avenger coming from the opposite direction swerved to avoid the oncoming Honda, lost control and then crashed into the pack of motorcycles.

Four motorcyclists -- including one husband-and-wife team who were riding the same bike -- were killed, Goudie said. The passenger of the Avenger was also killed.

Goudie said several of the people who were injured were airlifted to hospitals.

Massachusetts Unemployment Falls To The Lowest Rate In A While

Massachusetts Unemployment Falls To The Lowest Rate In A While - The Massachusetts unemployment rate last month fell to its lowest level in more than a year, but the state's economic recovery showed signs of slowing as employers slashed jobs across several sectors.

The jobless rate dove to 8.4 percent from 8.8 percent in August, hitting the lowest level since May 2009, the state Executive of Labor and Workforce Development reported today. A separate survey of employers, however, showed Massachusetts firms cut payrolls by more than 20,000 jobs in September, with the losses concentrated in leisure and hospitality, a tourism related sector, and education and health services.

In addition, revised data showed the state also shed 3,000 jobs in August, instead of the initially reported gain of 2,100 jobs.

The mixed data suggest that the state's recovery is still proceeding, but the struggling national and international economies are beginning to weigh on Massachusetts, said Michael Goodman, an economic analyst and professor at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Despite September's job losses, the longer-term trend -- more than 34,000 jobs added in the last six months -- still bodes well for the state, said Goodman.

"The trend still supports the notion that the Massachusetts is recovering faster than the nation," Goodman said. "But the larger story is we may be seeing the some of the impact of slowing national and international economies."

The US economy has shed jobs in each of the past four months, while the national unemployment rate has held near 10 percent. Also struggling are the economies of many industrialized nations, particularly in Europe, a major foreign market for Massachusetts companies.

Alabama Unemployment Rate Drops Again

Alabama Unemployment Rate Drops Again - Alabama's unemployment rate declined for the fifth consecutive month to 8.9 percent in September, the nation's biggest drop in unemployment by any state over the last year, officials announced Friday.

State Industrial Relations Director Tom Surtees said the September rate is down from 9.2 percent in August and is significantly below the 10.7 percent recorded a year ago.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said that Alabama's drop of 1.8 percentage points was the nation's biggest drop in unemployment of any state over the last 12 months.

Alabama's unemployment rate has been declining each month since measuring 11 percent in April, and the new rate is the lowest recorded in Alabama in 1 1/2 years.

Surtees said there are other positive signs, including first-time claims for unemployment being at the lowest point in two years and benefit payments being at their lowest level so far this year.

"This sharp decline is a positive sign our economy is getting back on track and Alabama is headed in the right direction," Gov. Bob Riley said Friday.

The governor said Alabama is working with more potential new industries than at any time in the last few years and he expects a major economic announcement next week.

Alabama's unemployment rate was below the national figure of 9.6 percent and was better than any of Alabama's neighbors. Figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Florida at 11.9 percent, Georgia at 10.0 percent, Mississippi at 9.8 percent, and Tennessee at 9.4 percent.

Manny Pacquiao Beats Antonio Margarito

Manny Pacquiao Beats Antonio Margarito - FILIPINO boxer Manny Pacquiao captured the vacant WBC super welterweight title with a 12-round unanimous decision over Antonio Margarito at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas today.

The 31-year-old Pacquiao won on all three judges' scorecards to extend his winning streak to 13.

The southpaw used his hand speed and ring savvy to prevail in front of a crowd of over 50,000, despite giving up a 17-pound (7.71 kg) weight advantage.

Pacquiao has shown little sign of losing speed and power as he moves up in weight to fight bigger and stronger opponents, but he failed to score the knockout on Saturday.

Even so, the bout didn't turn into the same kind of dull affair as Pacquiao's fight against Joshua Clottey at the same venue in March.

Unlike Clottey, Margarito came to fight. He paid the price as he suffered a nasty gash under the right eye and had a huge welt that almost closed his left eye as well.

Sam Kinison Documentary Tribute

Sam Kinison Documentary Tribute - The punchlines of Sam Kinison still scald even after two decades of his death. His humor brand such as dark, cerbral and raunchy of the early ’80s still has no peer in the modern comedy. He had set the stand-up world into ablaze with his blending scabrous insights, rock music, politically incorrect observations and also an ex-preacher’s sense of drama.

The Back From Hell: A Tribut to Sam Kinison is not the documentary on his life, as many may be hoping. Directed by Robert Small, the documentary is more of touching the major aspects of Kinison and also of the over-reliance on the recent comics waxing rhapsodic about the comedian’s work.

The documentary is of 60 minutes that aired earlier this year on the Comedy Central.
