iPad Update Release Date Pushed Back - iPhone, iPad Update: iOS 4.2 Release Date Pushed Back. Rumors have been rife of the release of iOS 4.2 public version. Earlier, the release date of iOS 4.2 public version was rumored to be November 12. But after this deadline was over without any success, a new rumor is doing the rounds that the public version of iOS 4.2 will be released on November 24, according to sources in Telegraph.

The rumor of public version of iOS 4.2 releasing soon started after Apple released the Golden Master version of iOS 4.2 on November 1. The launch of public version of iOS 4.2 was expected on November 12, but Apple had to delay the release to fix some iPad WiFi connect issue and released another Golden Master version. Now, the new rumored date is November 24.

Besides, iPhone Dev Team are working and are said to be ready to launch many updated tools to Jailbreak iOS 4.2. Comex said to be working on the untethered iOS 4.2 Jailbreak. Comex has completed their hacks to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 beta 3 and expectedly will extend it to bring untethered 4.2 Jailbreak.

Moreover, a new unlock for iPhone 3G and 3GS will be available very soon. But experts warn not to update iOS 4.2 as it arrives if one owns a 3G or 3GS devices and wants to unlock it. They say that they must wait for a go-ahead from the Dev Team before they proceed to do so.

However, there has been no unlock for iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2. Experts say not update it to iOS 4.2 on your iPhone 4 device until Dev Team introduces their new features.
