Farm dogs maul Irish Tourist

Farm dogs maul Irish Tourist - An Irish tourist who was mauled to death by two dogs while visiting an organic farm in Penang yesterday morning had more than 50 bite wounds and lacerations all over his body.

Penang Hospital Forensic Department head Datuk Dr Bhupinder Singh, who performed the post-mortem on Maurice Sullivan (pix), 50, today, said he found the wounds on the victim's head, neck, hands and legs.

"The victim had died as a result of severe haemorrhage due to multiple injuries from the dogs' bites," he said, adding that there were no signs that Sullivan suffered any ailment at the time of death.

Bhupinder also said both Sullivan's ears and the left side of his face were gnawed off in the incident. One of the ears was recovered from the scene.

Bhupinder told reporters this after carrying out the post-mortem which began at 10am.

Sullivan was attacked by two mongrels at the farm while taking photographs of the greenery there with his Polish girlfriend, Agniseszka Jablonska, 28, who had ventured a distance away from Sullivan when the dogs attacked him. Sullivan died on the spot.

Jablonska, who had been in a state of shock after the incident on Sunday, was also at the mortuary this morning.

She said she had come to terms with the incident and did not want to aggravate the situation further, and was not planning to press charges against anyone over the matter.

"This is life, and it was an accident," she said. "He knew his time would come. Maurice is at peace."

No need to press charges. I'd just shoot 2 farm dogs to death.

Shooting the dogs would be too easy. I would remove the paws first. Then I would remove each tooth one by one. Then slice off the dogs' ear. Of course, all of this while the dogs were still alive.

Don't totally blame the dogs! The owner had to know that they were vicious types and apparently did NOTHING to stop them.Yes the dogs should have been destoyed but again I blame the owner.

The dogs should have been under the control of their owner. If anyone is held responsible it should be the owner, not the dogs.

If he nad not been taking the pictures and payiing attention to what he was doing he might be alive today. That is the problem people just wonder around doing what they want, besides the dogs was doing what they do best protecting their owenr's property.
