Paula Deen - The housekeeper responsible for stealing jewelry from celebrity chef Paula Deen has been sentenced to prison. Mary Alice White, who served as the housekeeper for Deen, admitted to stealing jewelry on a regular basis for nine months. Deen informed authorities that she had lost $100,000 worth of jewelry. White was arrested and charged with the crime after she attempted to sell a pair of earrings at a pawn shop.

Deen has appeared on several shows related to cooking. She is a fixture on the Food Network, where she is known for her southern style of cooking. She has also written a series of cookbooks. Deen is one of the most well known chefs in the United States. White was employed in Deen’s home on Wilmington Island. In addition to serving her prison sentence, White will also receive several years of probation for her crimes.

Farm dogs maul Irish Tourist - An Irish tourist who was mauled to death by two dogs while visiting an organic farm in Penang yesterday morning had more than 50 bite wounds and lacerations all over his body. Penang Hospital Forensic Department head Datuk Dr Bhupinder Singh, who performed the post-mortem on Maurice Sullivan (pix), 50, today, said he found the wounds on the victim's head, neck, hands and legs. "The victim had died as a result of severe haemorrhage due to multiple injuries from the dogs' bites," he said, adding that there were no signs that Sullivan suffered any ailment at the time of death.
