Man Hits Teen on Plane Over iPhone - Police say a man on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas punched a teenager who refused to turn off his iPhone as the plane approached the Boise airport.

Officers arrested 68-year-old Russell E. Miller, of Boise, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Tuesday. He has been released from jail on bond.

Witnesses told police the 15-year-old was playing games and listening to music on his cell phone when flight attendants instructed passengers to turn off their electronic devices because the plane was landing.

Witnesses told police that when the teen didn't respond, Miller got angry and punched the boy in the arm.

Miller says he "tapped" the teen on the shoulder after he refused to turn off the phone. He told the Idaho Statesman that he may have "overreacted," but that he did not punch the teen.

I,m sure the old man lied of doing wrong so he wont hit the teen again.You can't trust people.The teen was doing this thing by entertaining his self.Nothing wrong about that.If the man wanted the teen to stop.He could of told the teen he was ban off the plane instead of making the problem happen.

The kid should get fined for not turning off the device as requested by the attendant. They do disrupt the pilots controls and then anything could happen. Better a punch in the arm than dead. No-one does anything until it happens and then they turn off the device. Oh! I was just playing my game ignoring everything else around me because I am better than all of you.

the kid, and everyone on board, was told to shut that all electronics off for take-off. why can't stupid people just follow the frickin' rules?

and where were the parents who should have been making sure the kid followed the rules so a complete stranger didn't have to get involved?

This is the problem with kids today. The flight attendant asks the kid to turn the iPod off but today’s children pay no attention to authority. He was entertaining himself, no he was putting the whole plane at risk and you want to make out that it’s ok. The roll has reversed, the youth and not the elders are running the country and it’s in pretty sad shape.

Seriously, the kid deserves a good slap on the head! Does anyone see that or are they all blind to the fact that the kid would not listen, as usual, and the man goes to jail? Maybe he shouldn't have taken that step and hit the kid but the kid probably deserved it since he thought he was too good for any rules. That would really tork me too. I would give the guy a medal. It's time to go back to the old ways. Kick his asssssssssssss and make him listen!
